Tips for Crockpot Camping
Although crockpot meals tend to be easy to make, we want to provide some tips & tricks so that you can prepare your meals as efficient as possible:
If possible, the smaller the crockpot you can bring, the better. You don't want your crockpot taking up too much packing space! But, if you need to bring a larger one for you and your family, be sure to pack it safely in your car so it doesn't get damaged.
First, it's best to make a grocery list of all the ingredients you'll need for each recipe you're planning to make. Once you have all the ingredients, we recommend chopping any vegetables, seasoning meat, and portioning seasonings into Ziploc bags before you head out on your East Texas camping trip. This way, all you have to do is dump the pre-portioned ingredients into the crockpot and you're good to go!
Looking to save time on cleaning? We recommend purchasing some crockpot liners! These liners go inside the crockpot before you add any ingredients. If you don't have any liners, you can also line your crockpot with foil. Once the crockpot is empty, you can remove the liner or foil for easy clean-up!
